The Diplomatic Corps provides a bridge between first-year students and SIS to ensure that they feel connected to their major from day one. Corps volunteers serve as a point of contact, sharing co-curricular opportunities and resources available to students. They also play an essential role in facilitating participation in SIS events and in connecting students to SIS faculty.
Corps volunteers regularly represent SIS at Admissions events and serve as a point of contact for prospective students looking to speak with current SIS undergraduates. While students touring American University for the first time can rely on AU Ambassadors as a resource to answer questions about the university, they can rely on the Diplomatic Corps to learn about students' experiences in SIS.
The Diplomatic Corps hosts periodic events, such as study abroad panels, game nights, and group study sessions. Be sure to keep an eye out for emails from your assigned Corps volunteer sharing news and event announcements.
