SPA welcomes your visit to the beautiful American University campus, ideally positioned in the epicenter of the Public Affairs field--Washington, D.C.! Our campus visits are unparalleled experiences. We offer you the opportunity to meet with an admissions representative and to tour the campus with a member of our Graduate Student Ambassador team. The customized visit enables you to learn more about our the SPA degree programs; distinctive opportunities, including our wide range of research centers and institutes; application process; merit aid options; as well as student support services.

Campus visits are primarily designed for our on-campus master's degree programs. Students interested in SPA’s Ph.D., Executive MPA, graduate certificates, and/or online programs should contact us at spainfo@american.edu to learn more about visit options.

As you prepare for your campus visit, please be sure to review American University’s COVID-19 Visitor Protocol. As part of the registration process, you will be asked to affirm that you (and your guests) will adhere to the guidelines outlined while you are a visitor on our campus. In addition:

• All guests/visitors must be fully vaccinated and will need to present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at check-in, per our Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols.
• If guests are unvaccinated because of religious/medical reasons, they must present upon checking in for the campus visit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours before the visit.
• If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, regardless of vaccination status, please reschedule your visit: fever of 100.4 or above, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle aches, new loss of taste or smell.
• Finally, if you intent to use the AU shuttle on your visit, a mask is required to ride. All visitors to American University's campus are required to abide by American University Health and Safety Directives and the District of Columbia public health and safety requirements.
